Kabuli Chana, which is also known as safed chana in India.
There are basically two types of chickpeas. While small Desi Chana is angular seeds, which may be yellow, green, light brown or even black in colour, Kabuli Chana is hard, beige-coloured bean with a diameter of less than a centimetre. It is one of the earliest cultivated legumes. It has a creamy flavour, firm texture and minimal fat, which makes it a multipurpose ingredient.
